With a commitment to preserving Sikh values and fostering a strong sense of cultural identity, the Sikh Values Learning Centre continues to be a guiding force in shaping young minds with the rich spiritual and ethical teachings of Sikhism.
Ram Singh Chehlan is one of the most renowned and educated scholars and preachers within the Sikh Panth. He possesses exceptional knowledge about Sikh issues, Gurmat, the meanings of Gurbani, and the mindset of children, teenagers, and youth. Over his life, he has traveled to nearly two dozen countries, spreading the message of Sikhi and organizing camps for children. His preaching efforts have taken him to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Kenya, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the United States. Many international organizations have honored him with appreciation certificates.
Despite being recognized globally, his humility and simplicity remain intact. In 2000, seeing his wisdom and capabilities, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) appointed him as a management member of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Matunga (Mumbai). Under the guidance of the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Professor Manjit Singh Ji, he initiated Gurmat Quiz Competitions to promote Sikhism. However, when he saw the political influence in SGPC, he chose to step back.
A distinctive aspect of his life is that he has never sought favors or engaged in flattery. His words always reflect the truth, even if it led to hardships. Yet, he has always endured difficulties with patience, finding new opportunities to advance the mission of Sikh propagation. His faith and determination have remained his lifelong companions.
Unlike many, Ram Singh Chehlan stands out as a man of unwavering faith. He has delivered discourses across Punjab and major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bilaspur, Tezpur, Alwar, and Ajmer. His preaching efforts have given him a unique perspective, enriching his teaching methodology, making it engaging for the younger generation.
Observing Ram Singh Chehlan, one feels as if he is a walking institution. His dedication to the Sikh Panth is unwavering, and he continues to make persistent efforts for the promotion of Sikhi.
Beyond being a preacher, he actively participates in Sikh-related talk shows and runs his YouTube channel ‘GurGyan Channel’, where the ‘Panthic Hawaavan Da Rukh’ talk show is highly popular.
Apart from media engagements, he operates two institutions:
Through ‘GurGyan Channel’, he has launched a worldwide movement to conduct Sehaj Paath with meanings, helping Sikh families worldwide. His SGGS Sehaj Paath playlist allows listeners to read, recite, and understand Gurbani. This has received widespread appreciation, inspiring many to engage in Gurbani recitation with their families.
One of his greatest qualities is his ability to impart Sikh heritage to the younger generation. His Gurbani interpretations use real-life examples, making them relatable for children, teenagers, and elders alike. Many have marveled at his deep insights, with some elders stating they had never heard such excellence in preaching before.
Beyond Gurbani, he excels in organizing Gurmat camps, quiz competitions, speech contests, poetry recitations, Gurbani Antakshari, and Gurmat classes. His command over language and engaging style keep youth engrossed for hours.
When sharing Sikh history, he cross-checks stories with Gurbani, ensuring authenticity. His unique approach ensures every lesson enhances family values, instills ethical virtues, and contributes to social betterment. His insights into Gurbani often leave listeners in awe.
